Cartonplast in food processing

In the food-processing field, Cartonplast can be applied to advantage in place of other conventional packaging materials, such as carton, wood and glass. Cartonplast can successfully stand up to the shortcomings of these materials, such as mold formation, fragility, and impossibility of sterilization.   Cartonplast cellular sheets have these useful characteristics in the packaging of foodstuffs:

  • They are unaltered by contact with grease, water and chemicals
  • Light and sturdy, and capable of being utilized again and again
  • Clean, mold-proof, odorless and tasteless
  • Can be sterilized with hot water and steam to a temperature of 120 C
  • Water repellent:  does not absorb moisture and therefore does not vary in weight
  • Washable, shapeable, can be folded and printed using the same systems as with carton
  • Modern and attractive, translucent, opaque white and colored in the colors desire
